Bring a flavour of Austria into your home and join us for an Austrian Wine tasting along with some homemade, Liptauer, a traditional Austrian appetiser which you can easily whip up in the kitchen on Friday 7th May at 8pm via Zoom.

Liptauer is a part of the regional cuisine of Austria, it is a combination of cream cheese, paprika, caraway seeds, mustard and possibly garlic, with peppers, capers and gherkins sprinkled on the top.... although recipes do vary!Liptauer is often eaten with rye bread, pumpernickel toast, bagels, and crackers. It also makes a good a dip, going well with peppers and celery. Hardly surprisingly it will compliment the three wines selected for tasting, these include

Nastl Gruner Veltliner Klassik

A classic style, bright and attractive in appearance with fresh aromas of lemons, herbs and a touch of minerality. The palate is lively and fresh with sparkling acidity, hints of lemons and a fresh lingering aftertaste.

Nastl Weissburgunder

Instantly appealing with smooth slightly confected fruit notes, marzipan, white asparagus and pink pepper on the nose. The palate has pithy acidity combined with a surprisingly full palate and a creaminess on the finish.

Nastl Gelber Muskateller

An exotic wine that entices the senses with vibrant aromas of elderflower blossom, peppers, strawberry and a hint of musk perfume. Richly flavoured but surprisingly dry and fresh on the palate, drinking joy on the highest level.
